Ex-CBS 2 anchor cleared of choking wife

Disgraced TV anchor Rob Morrison squirmed his way out of wife-choking charges Thursday, as a judge let him withdraw his guilty plea in return for finishing a domestic violence class.

The former WCBS-Channel 2 anchor — who resigned after the February 2013 attack — saw all the domestic violence charges melt away at a brief hearing in a Stamford, Conn. court. He’s now ready to start anew, his lawyer said.

“He’ll end up with zero criminal record,” said Francis DiScala.

Morrison pleaded guilty last July to threatening and breach of peace — with the understanding the counts would be dropped when he competed a domestic violence program, which he has done.

“He’s very happy,” the lawyer said.

Morrison’s blonde wife Ashley was at the hearing to support him. DiScala said he believe’s the incident was blown out of proportion, even though Morrison allegedly throttled his wife and then told cops “I’m f–king killing her.”

“This is what I would consider a run of the mill domestic argument that ended up with an arrest probably due to comments that Morrison made to the cops,” said DiScala. “He has a stressful job, he has an argument at home, and it turns into this.”

The attack on Ashley — who is a former “CBS MoneyWatch” reporter — occurred on Feb. 17, 2013, in the family’s million-dollar Darien, Conn. home after the couple watched the film “Mystic Pizza.”

Ashley’s mom reported the domestic disturbance to cops.

When officers arrived, the anchor was “extremely inebriated” and “belligerent,” according to the police report obtained by The Post.

“I can’t go home tonight man, I’m f–king killing her!” Morrison, 44, slurred to the cop who booked him, the report said.

When cops released his mug shot, it showed him with a cut nose from when Ashley bashed with a remote control to stop him from choking her.
The newsman also taunted his arresting officers, calling one “Sergeant Douchebag,” according to the report.

The TV anchor was originally charged with strangulation, threatening and disorderly conduct
