A-Rod takes high road

Two days after Yankees general manager Brian Cashman described life with Alex Rodriguez as “the good, the bad and the ugly’’ and one day after managing partner Hal Steinbrenner said the team was disappointed in the Yankees third baseman, Rodriguez chose the high road today when reached by The Post.

“I really don’t have anything to say about it,” Rodriguez said by phone. “I’ve said before I can only control certain things. Right now I control my rehab, so I’ve been in Tampa working out 7 days a week for 31 straight days trying to get back on the field to help my team win another championship.

“The last thing anybody in a uniform needs right now is another distraction, and I am not going to be one. I’m hitting, running, fielding, conditioning and working toward one goal, which is to get back and win.”
