How’s this for political spin?
We caught Christine Quinn sweating and backpedaling furiously yesterday morning, and it wasn’t at a candidates’ forum.
No, the impressively buff, spandex-clad mayoral hopeful was taking her weekly spinning class at SoulCycle in Tribeca.
“I’m not coordinated, so I have accepted that I’m never going to be in the front row, where you have to keep the pace,” Quinn joked.
She’s also currently trailing in the polls — behind front-runner Anthony Weiner.
Quinn has been spinning for more than two years and says it’s helped her drop three dress sizes.
“I find this super-helpful with stress reduction,” she said.
Even so, her toughest feat in spinning is not thinking about politics. On the morning of a recent Hotel and Motel Trades Council endorsement meeting, she kept going over her speech as she pedaled.
“I’m doing my little presentation in my head, and I was like, ‘What are you doing?’ ” she recalled.
Meanwhile, with $6 million to spend in the race Quinn is she’s still hoping for that front-row perch.
Today she is launching a major, multinetwork TV ad buy — the first of the campaign by any Democrat — The Post has learned.
The spot will air on NY1, MSNBC, and CNN, among other stations, sources said.
