See the dramatic rescue of a dog swept out to sea

A lucky dog was rescued in the UK Sunday after being swept out to sea and assumed dead.

The Labrador and its owner were taking a walk when the dog went into the ocean off Sea Palling on the north Norfolk coast and was taken away by the tide, according to Sky News.

Two kayakers helped the man search for his pet but eventually gave up.

However, the next morning, crews from Royal National Lifeboat Institution began searching the reefs half a mile off the coast.

The crew heard barking from one of the reefs and discovered the sandy-colored Lab sitting on a rocky outcrop “cold, wet and frightened” but unhurt.

“This was one lucky dog. We’re just grateful to be in the right place at the right time,” Jake Munday, a member of the RNLI, said.

Coaxed away from the rocks, the dog, who recently had puppies, was wrapped in a blanket and reunited with its owner.
