Seahawks’ Sherman goes off on Crabtree after win

The Seahawks’ Richard Sherman made the play of the game — setting up Seattle’s NFC Championship-securing interception with a deflection of Colin Kaepernick’s pass to Michael Crabtree in the end zone in the final minute — and then made sure everyone, especially Crabtree, knew he was the best cornerback in the game.

After Malcolm Smith’s interception, Sherman was penalized for unsportsmanlike conduct after yelling at Crabtree and making a choke sign. And when the game was over, Sherman was just getting started, carrying his passion over in an unapologetic rant with FOX sideline reporter Erin Andrews.

“I’m the best corner in the game! When you try me with a sorry receiver like Crabtree, that’s the result you’re going to get. Don’t you ever talk about me,” Sherman yelled to the somewhat stunned Andrews.

When Andrews asked who had been talking about Sherman, the cornerback screamed, “Crabtree! Don’t you open your mouth about the best, or I’ll shut it for you real quick. LOB [Legion of Boom]!”

In another postgame interview, Sherman called Crabtree a “mediocre receiver” and that he “would never let him a catch a game-winner on [him].”

Sherman explained the bad blood has lingered since Crabtree allegedly said something personal to him during offseason training in Arizona this summer.

“He knows what he said,” Sherman explained.

Crabtree remained unconvinced when he took to Twitter following the game:

And Sherman said he would tune out the immediate backlash that followed his intense rant:
