Apparently the second coming of the Messiah will not occur in Tennessee.

A family judge in the state shocked the parents of a 7-month-old boy during a custody hearing when she ordered the baby’s first name of Messiah be changed to Martin because “it’s a title that’s only been earned by one person.”

The baby’s parents said they will appeal because a judge shouldn’t be allowed to force her religious beliefs on them.

One of Iowa’s most important public treasures has been attacked by terrorists.

A life-sized cow made of butter was doused with red paint at the Iowa State Fair by a group of animal-rights activists who wanted to send the message that “meat is murder.”

“It’s sad, because the butter cow is iconic of the Iowa State Fair,” fair organizers said.

Most people would pray for help if they got locked in a church at night. One English woman just tweeted.

Sarah Greep was shocked to find she was stuck inside the Church of St. Andrew in Plymouth after other volunteers had left for the night.

The 43-year-old then posted pictures of herself in the church to Twitter and her followers soon called officials to free her.

No one’s ever been happier to have had a stroke.

A 68-year-old Englishman was shocked to find out that he could no longer feel sadness after suffering a stroke a few years ago. Doctors think his loss of the ability to experience grief is due to damage in the frontal lobe of his brain.

“I am never depressed,” said Malcolm Myatt. “It’s an advantage really.”

This is more like something from the medieval police blotter.

A 40-year-old man in England was seriously injured in a drive-by slingshot attack. Police said the victim was hit in the eye when someone fired the device from inside a passing car.
