Celtics’ Sullinger arrested for battery in alleged domestic violence incident

Boston Celtics forward Jared Sullinger was arrested over the weekend after an alleged domestic violence situation in Waltham, Mass.

According to FOX Sports 25 in Boston, Sullinger turned himself over to police at 6 a.m. on Tuesday morning and was scheduled to be arraigned in Waltham District Court later in the day.

Sullinger is charged with assault and battery, malicious destruction of property and witness intimidation, stemming from the incident early Saturday evening.

Sullinger, 21, is entering his second season in the NBA for a rebuilding Celtics club, having played in only 45 games his rookie year because of a back injury. The 6-foot-6, 260-pound power forward out of Ohio State averaged six points and 5.9 rebounds per game. Sullinger had perhaps his best game as a pro in Brooklyn on Christmas Day, when he scored 16 points with seven rebounds in a lopsided win over the Nets.
