‘Baby shooting’ gangbanger faces life

A violent gangbanger accused of fatally shooting an innocent 16-month-old while gunning for the tot’s father was indicted Thursday in Brooklyn Criminal Court on murder charges that could put him behind bars for life.

Daquan Breland, 23, hit little Antiq Hennis in the head while the toddler was sitting in his stroller in Brownsville on September 1, prosecutors say.

The slain boy’s family waited in court all day to hear Breland’s indictment at 4 p.m.

“There’s no reason he should ever walk the streets ever again,” said aunt Sheneva Williams, 29. “I lost a nephew for a senseless act.”

Breland was also indicted on weapons charges and did not appear in court.

Daquan Wright, 19, allegedly handed the gun to Breland, who opened fire at the dead boy’s father over a gang beef. Wright is expected to be indicted on weapons charges and faces 15 years in prison.

After the shooting both men fled to Pennsylvania, where they were arrested six days later.
