Subway passes over man who survives without a scrape

A man jumped onto the subway tracks to get his cellphone in Brooklyn on Tuesday morning — and miraculously survived without a scrape when an L train passed over him, authorities said.

He jumped onto the roadbed at the 105th Street station near Farragut Road in Canarsie shortly before 10:30 a.m. Tuesday to grab the phone, according to MTA spokesman Kevin Ortiz.

Part of the train passed over him while he lay in the trough, but he wasn’t hurt.

The tracks at the outdoor station have a lot of room.

An FDNY spokesman said that when medics arrived at the station, the man had already taken off.

The wacky incident initially disrupted L train service, but it resumed with residual delays.

The MTA warned riders Tuesday not to jump onto the tracks if they drop their smartphones.

“We can’t say it enough. Never, ever go onto the tracks to retrieve anything,” said Ortiz. “Contact an MTA employee who can assist. Your life is worth more than a cellphone.”

Ortiz was in a dramatic video created in December that shows the dangers of riders going onto the roadbed.

In it, he drops his iPhone onto the tracks — and decides to jump when he doesn’t see a train coming.

But, while other straphangers scream, he isn’t able to jump back up to the platform — and has to face the 747,200-pound train as it barrels into the station.
