Winter will never end: Snow falls across NYC on Tax Day

When will the winter ever end!!!

New York had to endure a round of showers as it started snowing Tuesday night in the city. That’s right, on April 15 — and it didn’t end by early this morning.

Just days after temperatures in Central Park hit the mid-70s, Old Man Winter returned with a vengeance as flurries fell across the five boroughs.

A persistent rain and a mid-April cold snap conspired to drop a light dusting of snow on the city starting at about 11 p.m., according to Dan Pydynowski, senior meteorologist with AccuWeather.

The snow continued into early Wednesday, but Pydynowski assured weather-weary New Yorkers it was too warm for any significant accumulation.

“For the duration of the snow, most of the city has been above freezing,” he said.

“Once we get through this, later in the day Wednesday will be sunny,” Pydynowski added. “[Wednesday] will be chilly … but it looks dry.”
