‘Downton Abbey’ adds three to cast

‘Downton Abbey” is still airing its fourth season stateside, but the British costume drama is already making additions to its cast for the upcoming fifth season.

Richard E. Grant (“Doctor Who”) will join the cast as Simon Bricker, who visits the estate as a guest of the Granthams. Anna Chancellor (“The Hour”) will guest star as Lady Anstruther and Rade Sherbedgia (“24”) will play a Russian refugee who has fled after World War I.

Dame Harriet Walter will reprise her role as Lady Shackleton and Peter Egan will return as Lord Flintshire, according to an announcement Friday from the show’s producer.

“Downton Abbey” premiered on PBS’ “Masterpiece” to 10.2 million viewers last month. Its Season 4 finale airs Feb. 23.
