Ex-Met Valdespin quits Winter League for absurd reason: report

Oh, Jordany.

Former Mets hothead Jordany Valdespin quit his Dominican Winter League team after being pinch-hit for in a recent playoff game, according to an ESPN Deportes report.

Valdespin was non-tendered by the Mets after a tumultuous 2013 season. Valdespin got into an altercation with manager Terry Collins calling him a “c—sucker” in July after the team sent him down to Triple-A. He was then suspended for 50 games near the end of the season for his role in the Biogenesis scandal.

If his Winter League stint was an attempt to show major league teams he is a changed man, this won’t help the 26-year-old’s case.
