Cops hunt Council on Foreign Relations vandal

The NYPD is searching for a vandal who drenched the Council on Foreign Relations building on the Upper East Side in bright red paint, cops said.

An unidentified man dressed in black from head to toe tossed the paint onto the building just after midnight on Nov. 5, according to police.

The incident wasn’t reported to cops until the later the same morning around 9:30 a.m. when the damage was discovered, cops said.

Investigators scoured the area for video and were able to capture the suspect who was carrying the paint in a plastic bag, cops said .

The NYPD’s Intelligence Division has been made aware of the incident and police said the crime has been classified as felony criminal mischief.

The perpetrator caused $1,500 in damage to the façade of the famed building, cops said.

According to their website, the CFR is a resource to help the public better understand the foreign policy choices facing the United States and other countries.

A spokesman for CFR said there is no reason to believe that this was anything more than a random act.
