Newlyweds accused in killing watched cops at scene, pal says

They liked to watch.

“Thrill-kill” couple Elytte and Miranda Barbour returned to the scene of the crime to gawk as Pennsylvania cops combed for evidence in the grisly murder of the man they allegedly lured to his death through a Craigslist escort ad, according to Elytte’s longtime best friend.

The pal said he let the now-notorious newlyweds stay in his New Berlin, Pa., home after they eloped in October — and that they later told him about last month’s slaying of Troy LaFerrara, in which they’re both charged.

“They said they were in Sunbury and saw police at the scene — so they watched,” said the pal, who spoke on the condition of anonymity.

Meanwhile, Elytte’s baby mama said her ex-boyfriend was a quiet and reserved community-college student in North Carolina — until he took two hits of Ecstasy and “lost his mind” in March.

Aimee Vaneyll, 20, said Elytte, 22, “kept repeating himself for hours” and began drinking and smoking more pot than usual after the designer-drug overdose.

Vaneyll — who remained friendly with Elytte even after he hooked up with already-pregnant Miranda — also said Miranda “loved sex” and was so kinky that she once touched some hot wax “and began to moan like she was having an orgasm.”

But Miranda, 18, also hated fat people with “a fiery passion,” and Vaneyll wasn’t surprised to learn that she’s charged with murdering beefy victim LaFerrara — who tipped the scales at more than 275 pounds.

“It sounds harsh, but she would always talk about it,” Vaneyll said of Miranda’s anti-obesity bias.

A childhood friend of Miranda’s said the petite brunette once dreamed of becoming a model and “flaunted around guys” before getting pregnant in their native Alaska.

The former friend, who gave her name only as “Karen,” said she doubts Miranda even knew who knocked her up before she fled her overbearing family in their native Alaska to live with an aunt and uncle in Coats, N.C., where she met Elytte.

A former co-worker said the slightly built Elytte abruptly quit his job as a restaurant dishwasher in October, cryptically telling a colleague “You’ll see” when asked what his plans were.

LaFerrara, 42, was found dumped behind a garage in Sunbury, 150 miles northwest of Philadelphia, with about 20 stab wounds to his body on Nov. 20.

According to authorities, the married electrical engineer and strip-club devotee had made arrangements to meet Miranda after answering her ad offering female “companionship” for sale.

But when got into her red Honda SUV, Elytte allegedly emerged from under a blanket in the back and began strangling LaFerrara with a belt.

Miranda then repeatedly stabbed LaFerrara with a knife before the couple dumped his body and went to a Harrisburg strip joint to celebrate Elytte’s birthday, cops charge.

Elytte allegedly confessed that “they just wanted to murder someone together,” but had never been able to arrange a killing.

Elytte and Miranda are both locked up without bail in separate slammers pending court appearances on Dec. 17 and 20, respectively.
