‘Jetman’ swoops around Mount Fuji

It’s a bird…it’s a plane…no, it’s a man strapped to a jetpack flying past Mount Fuji in Japan.

Daredevil Swiss pilot Yves “Jetman” Rossy  jumped from a helicopter at an altitude of 11,811 feet and successfully flew his jet-powered carbon-Kevlar Jetwing around the 12,388-foot-tall mountain, Japan’s highest peak, which was recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site in June.

Rossy is both the pilot and inventor of his four engine “jetwing” which can reach speeds of close to 190 mph.

Spanning 8-feet across, Rossy has used his wing to fly over a number of world landmarks including the Swiss Alps, the English Channel and the Grand Canyon.
