5 questions for the ‘Nashville’ season finale

“Nashville” wraps up its second season on Wednesday night, and if the preview is any indication, it’s likely to be a shocker.

Last week saw Rayna (Connie Britton) arrange a charity concert at Fort Campbell and reunite with boyfriend Luke (Will Chase) while Juliette (Hayden Panettiere) struggled with guilt after cheating on Avery (Jonathan Jackson) with slimy record exec Jeff Fordham (Oliver Hudson).

Though “Nashville” is renewed for a third season, there are still plenty of plotlines to be resolved in Wednesday’s episode.

Here are the five top questions to be answered in the season finale.

Will Luke propose to Rayna?

Is a marriage made in music heaven in the future for Rayna (Connie Britton) and Luke (Will Chase)?ABC

Last week, after Luke got injured in Afghanistan, Rayna promised she was committed to their relationship. This week the two will perform together at a huge, free concert at LP Field that Rayna has organized to launch her Highway 65 debut album.

The promo clip shows Luke getting down on one knee onstage and asking Rayna if she “would do me the great honor” — could he be proposing to the country music queen?

What will happen with Deacon and Rayna?

Are Rayna and Deacon (Charles Esten) destined to reunite?ABC

Last week’s episode ended with Rayna onstage singing with her daughters Maddie (Lennon Stella) and Daphne (Maisy Stella) as well as her ex-lover (and Maddie’s father) Deacon (Charles Esten) — one big, happy, musical family. In the promo, we see Deacon holding Rayna’s face saying, “You and me, right? That’s how it’s supposed to be.”

Could he be making another plea for the star-crossed lovers to reunite now that he’s become the father figure she always wanted for Maddie? Or will she choose to stay with her steady country star beau Luke?

Will Avery find out that Juliette cheated on him?

Could there be trouble ahead for Avery (Jonathan Jackson) and Juliette Hayden Panettiere)?ABC

Juliette may have let Avery back into her life, but it looks like things will get worse before they get better with Jeff threatening to spill her secret. Is Jeff blackmailing Juliette, forcing her to re-sign with Edgehill Records or he’ll tell Avery she cheated on him?

In a sneak peek, Juliette asks Rayna to let her out of her Highway 65 contract and when she refuses, Juliette says, “You don’t get this now, but you are seriously ruining my life.”

In the promo, Avery is seen confronting Juliette saying “tell me it isn’t true.” Prior to that, Juliette is shown clutching her stomach and saying “I’m gonna be sick” — though if she turns out to be pregnant with Jeff’s love child, we are so done with this show.

Could Will get outed as gay?

Will a certain skeleton creep out of Will’s (Chris Carmack) closet?Getty Images

The camera doesn’t lie, as the closeted Will (Chris Carmack) found out last week when producers for the reality show he’s filming with new wife Layla (Aubrey Peeples) told him their kiss seemed a little forced. Upset, he tore out the cameras planted in their house and called up the cute trainer he met at the gym.

In the finale, his album is climbing the chart with the help of Jeff’s deep pockets, but could that all come crashing down if Will’s secret is exposed?

Will Scarlett decide to leave Nashville?

Is Scarlett (Clare Bowen) saying farewell to “Nashville” for good?ABC

After an onstage panic attack sent her to psychiatric care, Scarlett is finding out it’s not so easy to go back to your old life as a cocktail waitress when you’ve had a very public meltdown.

This week she will make a decision about her future in Music City. Will she follow through and leave Nashville, like she told best friend Zoey (Chaley Rose)? Or will she be convinced to stay, perhaps by former lovers Gunnar (Sam Palladio) or Avery?
