LI man sues dealer over Ferrari sold to someone else

A Hamptons financier claims he put a down payment on a $580,000 antique Ferrari with an Italian car dealer — who then sold the spectacular set of wheels to another buyer for nearly a million bucks.

Bernard Carl, 66, of Southampton Village, claims that he agreed to purchase the rare 1969 Ferrari 365 GTC from Perego Cars of Cossogno, Italy, according to papers filed in federal court on Long Island.

But Carl claims Perego suddenly hiked the price on the car from $580,000 to $625,000.

Perego refused to honor the existing purchase contract — and then sold the prized vehicle to another buyer for $920,000, according to the suit.

Carl and his attorney, Matthew Press, would not comment on their case.

Perego Cars reps did not return an e-mail for comment.
