Farrah Fawcett’s nurse backs O’Neal in Warhol dispute

LOS ANGELES — Farrah Fawcett’s former nurse has come out of the woodwork and will be allowed to testify for Ryan O’Neal in his legal battle over a $10 million Warhol painting.

Maribel Avila, who cared for Fawcett from 2006-07, learned about a lawsuit filed by the University of Texas against O’Neal only after reading about it in The Post last week, according to the actor’s defense team.

Avila is expected to testify that Fawcett once told her that a Warhol painting, then in Farrah’s hands and now in O’Neal’s possession, belongs to him.

“That’s [the Warhol painting] for Ryan, and he’s going to take it later on,” Avila said Fawcett told her.

Fawcett bequeathed the work to her alma mater, but O’Neal insists it’s his.

LA County Superior Court Judge William MacLaughlin ruled Thursday that Avila’s late addition to the witness list is OK because neither side could have easily known of her.

MacLaughlin said university lawyers will get to depose Avila before O’Neal’s side brings her to the witness stand next week.
