Psychic gets 3 months in jail after failing to pay woman she scammed

A Manhattan judge Monday tossed a psychic in jail for three months after she failed to pay full restitution to the lawyer she swindled out of more than $100,000 in cash and jewelry.

Last January, Crystal Marks copped to grand larceny and fortune-telling charges for scamming civil attorney Laura Brooks, 28.

But the soothsayer coughed up only $42,000 — far short of the $118,000 she owes Brooks for conning her out of cash and two gold Rolex watches that she promised would improve the attorney’s professional and romantic future.

Manhattan Supreme Court Justice A. Kirke Bartley also sentenced the smooth-talking crystal-baller to five years’ probation before she was cuffed and hauled off.

“She wanted to pay the rest but she didn’t have it,” said her defense lawyer, Paul Ascher.
