Café Devotion enters the New York coffee game

The competitive specialty-coffee market in New York City just got a new player.

Steven Sutton, a Colombian with a popular café in Bogota, called Café Devotion, will launch in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, this summer.

Sutton, an entrepreneur with music-industry roots, has spent $2.5 million to date on the debut; he will fly in his exclusive Colombian coffee beans and roast on site at the café at 69 Grand.

He claims his is the only single-sourced Colombian coffee company, getting coffee from the best areas in Colombia that others can’t.
