Stars shine at ‘Gravity’ premiere

With this kind of attractiveness, it’s no wonder that Sandra Bullock and George Clooney were cast in “Gravity.”

The megastars flashed smiles that beamed like pulsars and showed that magnetism isn’t the only force they exude, as they strode into the premiere of the new sci-fi flick Tuesday night at the AMC Loews Lincoln Square on the Upper West Side.

In the flick — which opens Friday — the “Miss Congeniality” star plays an astronaut on a space walk left spinning through space and gasping for breath after her shuttle is hit by debris and explodes.

But — similar to her trip down the carpet at Tuesday night’s premiere — Bullock’s character is tethered to Clooney as they try to fight their way to the safety of the International Space Station.

The blockbuster flick, which is rumored to have cost at least $80 million to make, is being described as a technical masterpiece.

Directed by Oscar- nominated auteur Alfonso Cuarón, the space-age thriller took nearly five years to make.

During that time, the actors were filmed in small spaces and against green screens and even submerged in water tanks.

Bullock described the process as an “unnatural experience” that helped her play a far-out space cadet.

“It was actually the perfect setup for feeling lonely, feeling lost, feeling frustrated,” she told the “Today” show.

“Once you started using [those feelings], instead of fighting it all the time, it made it what it was.”

Cuarón, who also made the post-apocalyptic drama “Children of Men,” said he was always fascinated with outer space, but wants to stay on solid ground from now on.

“I will never do another space movie,” the director told Wired magazine. “I’m very proud of this . . . But that’s it. I am ready to move on.”
