Manhattan hospital serves as a hotel on ‘Blacklist’

Fans of NBC’s “The Blacklist” might have recognized Metropolitan Hospital Center (on the Upper East Side) during Monday-night’s episode.

Several scenes were shot there, including a laundry room (subbing for a “hotel” laundry room), a morgue (the scene in which James Spader’s character, Reddington, is implanted with a GPS unit), an in-patient hospital room and the main entrance (which was subbing for the show’s District of Columbia General Hospital).

Speaking of “The Blacklist,” it’s getting the better of freshman timeslot competitor “Hostages” over on CBS, at least so far (two weeks into the season).

Monday night’s episode of “The Blacklist” snared 12.1 million viewers and averaged a 3.6 in adults 18-49 — compared to 6 million and a 1.5, respectively, for “Hostages” (Toni Collette, Dylan McDermott and Tate Donovan).

TLC’s ‘Cheapskates’ back

“Extreme Cheapskates” will return Oct. 23 to TLC’s “WTF Wednesday’” lineup (OK, they don’t officially call it that, but still . . .).

The new season premieres with back-to-back episodes that give a new (gagging) meaning to the word sharing — including a couple named Karissa and Rick who share shampoo, a toothbrush and dental floss (and that’s just the tip of the disgusting iceberg). The opener also includes a woman in Virginia who saves on electricity (and lowers her bills) by doing the majority of her housework between midnight and 5 a.m., when the rates are lower. Other on-the-horizon “Extreme Cheapskates” will include a guy who booked his daughter’s Sweet 16 party at a strip club — because he got a great deal — and a pregnant woman trying to save a couple of hundred bucks by having her husband build a breast pump at home.

Good times.

Last, but not least

Queen Latifah, whose talk show has gotten off to a strong start, tells People magazine’s Oct. 14 issue how much she loves her house in her native New Jersey: “I love my bed there. My house borders horse farms, and I can look out my window and see the horses and the new colts. It’s really peaceful.” . . . Freshman daytime show “Paternity Court,” hosted by Lauren Lake, is off to a promising start on CBS-owned Ch. 55 (1 p.m.), up 40 percent in households and a ridiculous 1,600 percent in women 25-54 (over “America’s Court,” which aired in that timeslot last fall) . . . MSG Networks kicked off the NHL and NBA season at The Park restaurant with network talent including Sam Rosen, Mike Breen, Joe Micheletti, Butch Goring and Fran Healy and celebs including Steve Schirripa and Miss USA, Erin Brady . . . Pat Cooper guests on the “Gregg Hunter Show” Friday (2 p.m.) to talk about his career and his retirement (crntalk.com).
