Mom accused of abandoning baby pleads not guilty

The teen mom accused of leaving her 6-month-old son in a Harlem playground on a freezing March day pleaded not guilty Monday to felony reckless-endangerment and child-abandonment charges.

Kenyetta Rowell, 18, who appeared in court wearing a white sweater with the word “love” on it, will undergo a mental-health exam after allegedly leaving the infant in a stroller in the cold.

The Staten Island mom allegedly admitted to cops that she left the baby bundled up March 23 near West 143rd Street and Eighth Avenue. She then waited 9 and 1/2 hours before calling 911, prosecutors said.

The baby was eventually found by a good Samaritan, who called the police.

Rowell is being held on $25,000 bond.
