Two screens and a stage

Starz will go the movie route — sort of — in “The Chair,” its first original unscripted (read: reality) show, in which two filmmakers (Shane Dawson, Anna Martemucci) will compete to bring a feature (using the same script) to the big screen. The winner snares $250,000.

Zachary Quinto will serve as a mentor to both. The 10-part series, shot in Pittsburgh, premieres this fall.

Publicist by day, playwright by night: Syfy communications director Gary Morgenstein’s newest play, “The Anthem,” will begin previews May 20 at The Lynn Redgrave Theatre (45 Bleecker St.), with music by Jonnie Rockwell and lyrics by Erik Ransom.

It’s an original musical inspired by Ayn Rand’s classic novella “Anthem,” and is directed by Rachel Klein, with a cast featuring Ashley Kate Adams, Remy Zakan, Jason Gotay, Randy Jones and Jenna Leigh Green, among others.

Last, but not least . . .

Kathy Griffin and boyfriend Randy Bick were in the audience for Wednesday’s taping of “Maury.” Griffin is a huge fan of Maury Povich . . . Discovery’s “Amish Mafia” snared a series-record 2.45 million viewers in its season finale Tuesday night . . . Wednesday night’s episode of ABC Family’s “Baby Daddy” (Tahj Mowry, Jean-Luc Bilodeau) climbed to a seven-week high in total viewers (924,000) and women 18-34 (298,000) . . . The complete “Hill Street Blues” series is out on DVD April 29 (34-DVD box set) from Shout! Factory.
