PEDAL-POWERED TV COULD KEEP KIDS TRIM

Parents with pudgy preteen couch potatoes might have found a way to help their kids slim down while watching television – a bicycle built for tube.

The “TVcycle,” invented by a New York obesity researcher, is electrically hooked up to the television, so kids have to pedal to make the TV work.

Researcher David Allison, of St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital, said an early study showed the TVcycle helped kids slim down while they zoned out to the boob tube.

Allison warns the results are preliminary – but as Americans pack on the pounds year after year, the TVcycle could be the wave of the future.
