Giants Blitz: Andre Brown return a monstrous success

HERO

Giants running back Andre Brown rushed for 115 yards and a touchdown on a career-high 30 carries in his first game of the season after having been on injured reserve after breaking a bone in his left leg in the preseason finale. Brown, who’s endured a litany of injuries in his career, solidified the Giants offense.

UNSUNG HERO

Giants cornerback Terrell Thomas made a huge interception of Terrelle Pryor late in the third quarter that set up the eventual game-winning touchdown. It was the second consecutive game Thomas, coming off torn ACL knee injuries the last two seasons, made a game-changing play with a turnover.

ZERO

Raiders quarterback Terrelle Pryor completed only 11-of-26 passes for 122 yards and an interception. Pryor was inaccurate throwing the ball and, despite his ability as a runner, he ran only five times for 19 yards and didn’t hurt the Giants with his legs.

KEY STAT

1 Pentaly against the Giants, for 5 yards, while the Raiders were called for eight penalties for 65 yards.

QUOTE OF THE DAY

“We’re 3-0; that’s the way we’re looking at it.’’
