There’s one less gun on the streets of Bedford-Stuyvesant, thanks to three cops who followed their instincts after noticing the suspicious behavior of two teens, police sources said.
Sgt. Joseph Cruzado was in an unmarked patrol car with Officers Daniel Grandstaff and Paul Molinaro at about 7:50 p.m. Tuesday when they noticed two teens scurrying away while one of the suspects, Jahkim Hayward, 17, adjusted something in his waistband, police said.
Cruzado stopped and searched the other teen, Rasun Baugh, 16, and found a knife in his possession, police said.
As Molinaro approached Hayward, the teen sprinted off and tossed a loaded, 9mm Hi-Point semiautomatic into a playground, cops said.
The three Brooklyn North cops caught up with Hayward, recovered the gun and busted him on charges of weapon possession, the same rap that Baugh now faces.
