NY investor Wilbur Ross to pay $81M to settle Carolina suit

Wilbur Ross and his firm are paying $81 million to settle a suit accusing it of double-dealing and breach of fiduciary duty.

The famed investor had settled the suit in October, The Post had reported, but the South Carolina state court just released the details this week.

More than half the cost, or $45 million, is being paid by forgiving loans made to International Textile Group, the court said.

This suit revolved around a restructuring of two Ross-controlled businesses.

In October 2006, Ross engineered the merger of two of his portfolio companies — Safety Components International, a publicly listed airbag maker, and International Textile Group, which makes car safety fabrics.

The shareholder suit alleged Ross shelled out $150 million for the “worthless” ITG.
