Americans want to bring Princess Diana back to life

America wants to bring Princess Di back from the grave.
In an oddly morbid poll by Vanity Fair and “60 Minutes,” Americans picked Princess Diana as the dead celebrity they’d most want to bring back to life.
Poll respondents had to pick from seven deceased celebrities — and even though Di, as the was the only non-American on the list, she won a convincing plurality with 35 percent.
She topped Apple founder Steve Jobs (14 percent), pop icons Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston (each 11 percent), “Dark Knight” actor Heath Ledger (9 percent), grunge rocker Kurt Cobain (6 percent) and “Sopranos” star James Gandolfini (3 percent).
Not surprisingly, Diana was a favorite among women with 43 percent of their votes. But even her 26-percent showing among men was tops, comfortably ahead of Jobs, the second male choice at 15 percent.

Di was a surprisingly strong candidate among younger Americans, too.

While Ledger was the No. 1 pick among respondents 18 to 29 with 23 percent, Princess Di was close behind at 19 percent. She was a clear, top choice among all other, older age groups.
The 36-year-old Princess of Wales died on Aug. 31, 1997, in a Paris car crash.
