On Thursday night, the Knicks and Nets will meet at Barclays Center, the first of four meetings in what was supposed to be an electric New York City rivalry.
However, both teams have gotten off to rough starts, taking some of the spice out of the matchup.
The ice-cold Knicks — losers of nine straight — are tied with the Bucks for the worst record in the Eastern Conference at 3-13.
Across the East River, the Nets sit just ahead of the Knicks in the standings at 5-12 and already own a five-game losing streak.
As a result, the price of tickets to Thursday’s game is plummeting, as well as tickets to other Knicks and Nets games.
“Ticket prices tend to drop towards game time, [but] it definitely has a lot to do with the play on the court,” Chris Matcovich, vice president of data and communications for TiqIQ, told The Post.
According to TiqIQ, the average price on the secondary market, as of Monday afternoon, for Thursday’s game was $247.49, with a “get-in” price of $72.
That price is 35 percent lower than the asking price at the beginning of the season, which was $383.22. The price is barely half of what it was for the first meeting between the Knicks and Nets last season, which had an average price of $485.72.
The average secondary-market price of Knicks tickets has decreased 13 percent since the beginning of the season, a drop from $320.92 to $278.66. The average price of Nets tickets has decreased 17 percent since the beginning of the season, a drop from $228.51 to $189.27.
