TAMPA — Alfonso Soriano continued to feel dizzy Saturday morning, and after taking batting practice was scheduled to see a doctor at noon.
“A little bit,’’ the outfielder said when asked if the dizziness were still a problem. “But today was the best day I’ve felt the whole spring training.’’
Soriano, who hasn’t played in any of the four Yankees’ exhibition games, didn’t work out for the first four days of camp. Friday he complained of being dizzy.
Soriano was on the list to travel to Dunedin to play the Blue Jays on Sunday, but wasn’t sure he was going to make the short trip.
“I want to make sure, probably a couple of more days,’’ Soriano said. “I feel better but I don’t want to rush it.’’
Manager Joe Girardi confirmed Soriano will stay home Sunday.
“He’s doing OK, probably be a few more days,” Girardi said. “It won’t be [Sunday]. We don’t feel he’s quite at full strength and we don’t want to run him out there.’’
With CC Sabathia, Hiroki Kuroda and Masahiro Tanaka pitching, the spotlight was away from Derek Jeter during Saturday’s 4-0 win over the Phillies at George M. Steinbrenner Field.
“I had to do a lot of things to get him under the radar,’’ Girardi said of Jeter, who played in his second spring training game and was at short for six innings.
Jeter looked nimble in the third when he ranged toward second base to field Ben Revere’s ground ball, tag Revere and complete the double play with a throw to first.
“It showed me his mobility is there,’’ Girardi said of Jeter, who went 0-for-2, walked and scored a run. “He’s not favoring anything and not wincing.’’
Asked how many pitches he has, Tanaka needed two hands to count the seven he possesses.
“Fastball, two-seamer, curveball, slider, cutter, split and change-up,” Tanaka said, using his fingers to count as he spoke.
Michael Pineda will participate in a simulated game Sunday morning. If that goes well, he likely would work in a game this week, although Girardi didn’t announce when.
By that point, David Phelps and Adam Warren, the leading candidates for the fifth rotation spot, will have pitched in two games.
Right-hander Dellin Betances turned in a second strong relief outing in two games after taking over for Tanaka to start the seventh and didn’t allow a run in 1 ²/₃ innings. He did walk a batter. … Lefty Cesar Cabral recorded the final four outs, two via strikeouts. … Adonis Garcia drove in two of the Yankees’ four runs. Yankees have won two straight and are 2-2.
