Devastated sister recounts tragic crash

The devastated mother of a Queens boy who died under the wheels of a tractor-trailer wants the driver punished — and a crossing guard put in place at the intersection where her son was killed.

“Give me my son, please,” Nargish Begum screamed, weeping, as relatives gathered around her Saturday.

Noshat Nahian, 8, right, was hit by a tractor trailer on his way to school.

“I want a school guard there so this doesn’t happen to any other parent.”

Begum has had to be sedated at times since the Friday accident, in which her 8-year-old son, Noshat Nahian, was caught under the rear wheels of the big rig while happily racing to school with his 11-year-old sister, Nishat.

“Punish the man!” Begum insisted of driver Mauricio Osoario-Palominos, 51, who was arrested after the crash for driving with a suspended license.

Nishat said her brother cried out for her in his final moments.

The two kids were heading to the last day of class before winter break at PS 152 when little Noshat ran ahead of his big sister, she said.

“My brother was so excited because of the school party. He was in a play and he was going to be dancing,” the girl recalled.

The children had the light at 61st Street and were already in the middle of the crosswalk when truck driver Osoario-Palominos allegedly made his fatal move, authorities said.

“The truck was moving, and it hit him. He fell on his back and he was crying, ‘Nishat, help me! Nishat, help me!’ ” said the weeping girl, who didn’t have time to pull her baby brother away.

“Then the tire went over his face,” she said. “I went to hold my brother, but people came and took me away. I was shouting and crying. I ran home to get my mother.”

The youngster’s family is seeking donations to help with burial expenses.

Osoario-Palominos was arrested on charges of aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and operating a vehicle in violation of safety rules.

His bosses at Roadtex Transportation had wrongly claimed they weren’t required to check his driver’s license, which was suspended in New York.
