Senior citizen keys wealthy Conn. cars

A senior citizen went on a rampage “keying” several cars in a wealthy Connecticut town, authorities said.

The unlikely vandal, Janina Slomiana, 73, was arrested for scratching up at least six cars after a neighbor caught her in the act on Sunday, Greenwich Police Lt. Kraig Gray told CBS-2.

“It makes no sense to me,” Gray said. Slomiana went to town on the cars parked along Permberwick Road, the same street she lives on, with “some sort of metal screw or chunk of metal,” police said.

The elderly woman was slapped with six counts of criminal mischief, but police told CBS-2 that they are looking to see if Slomiana could be behind an additional 20 cases from over the summer.

When asked why she did it, Lt. Gray said, “I don’t know the answer to that. She’s the only one that does.”
