Broncos RBs decide TD carry with rock-paper-scissors

Rock, paper, scissors, touchdown.

With the Broncos running the highest-scoring offense in the NFL, the only surprise left for them is who will score. And the way to decide that, like all matters of great importance, is a game of rock-paper-scissors, as first reported by USA Today.

Leading the Raiders, 30-14, with under 12 minutes in the fourth quarter of Monday night’s game in Denver, Broncos running back Ronnie Hillman ran 13 yards before being tackled at Oakland’s goal line. While the referees reviewed the run to see if Hillman scored, the trio of Broncos backs, including Montee Ball and Knowshon Moreno, decided that if the score was overturned, the game of rock-paper-scissors would settle who would get the goal-line carry.

Moreno went the Bart Simpson route –“Good ol’ rock, nothing beats that”– but Hillman said he threw it too early, resulting in a disqualification. Hillman’s scissors then shredded Ball’s paper.

On the next play, Hillman scored a touchdown and made fantasy football seem more about luck than ever.
