‘Annie’ remake starts shooting on the streets of New York

They had a “hard knock” film shoot!

Stars of a new “Annie” movie, Jamie Foxx and Quvenzhané Wallis, practiced a scene in which they slam into each other — and the young actress falls to the ground — on the set of the movie in  Tribeca on Wednesday.

Foxx is playing a Daddy Warbucks-style character and Wallis — who was nominated for an Oscar for her performance in “ Beasts of the Southern Wild” — will tackle the role of Annie in a modern-day adaptation of the classic 1982 musical.

The flick, which is set to hit theaters on Christmas day 2014, is produced by Will Smith and Jay-Z, who once used a tune from the musical for the chorus of his 1998 jam “Hard Knock Life (Ghetto Anthem).”

The movie won’t stray far from the plot of the original stage musical, which opened on Broadway in 1977.

In 1982, actor Albert Finney played Daddy Warbucks, child star Aileen Quinn played Annie and Carol Burnett played Miss Hannigan.

Cameron Diaz will play Miss Hannigan in the new movie.

While filming in Tribeca, a stunt-double for Wallis toppled onto a matt after bumping in to Foxx.

Wallis was also spotted riding a Citibike in  Harlem while filming the movie earlier this week.

Foxx’s character, Benjamin Stacks, is a new interpretation of the musical’s Daddy Warbucks character.
