Ticket prices for Mariano Rivera’s final game at Yankee Stadium on Thursday night have plummeted even further.
The average cost for the Yankees-Rays ticket is now $105.50 with the cheapest seat only $21, according to TiqIQ.com, which aggregates secondary-market ticketing data. The price is down from $149.96 and $39, respectively, a day earlier. It’s also down from the peak average of $238.14 back on Sept. 8 — a decrease of almost 56 percent.
The Yankees were officially eliminated from playoff contention on Wednesday night, so their final home game is irrelevant from a standings perspective. However, Rivera figures to take the mound for the last appearance of his legendary career in The Bronx before the team plays its final three games of the season this weekend in Houston.
“I’ll be there,” Rivera said Wednesday. “I’ll be there for the fans. They deserve it.”
