Jets will cash in Nashville

Including the 1997-2012 seasons in The Post, Cat’s record in print stands at 480-408 (54 percent) against the spread.

SATURDAY

Lsu (+3) over GEORGIA: With better offensive skill people than we’re used to seeing under Les Miles, including ex-Georgia QB Zach Mettenberger, Bayou Bengals own the bulk of the edges between the hedges in this SEC biggie. Not knocking Georgia HC Mark Richt, but if you’re telling Cat this is close late, and my choice is Mettenberger or Aaron Murray at crunch time, the way to go is beyond obvious. LSU Cats (+3) out-heart UGA ’Dawgs, for one unit.

SUNDAY

Jets (+3½) over TITANS: New Yorkers won the games in which they were given a chance this month. This is tougher, but Jake Locker is not Peyton Manning, and if Bilal Powell keeps rushing it, the defense holds, and Geno Smith doesn’t turn it over, this price is right. Gang Green (+3½) pummels the side bearing their original nickname, for one unit.

LAST WEEK: 1-1. Bears and Steelers put defense on the back burner (Over 40½, plus one unit). If you went out Monday and grabbed the +16 ½ or +17 out there, cheers! (Raiders, minus one unit).

SEASON: 5-2-1.
