Skateboarder dead in tragic accident

A Queens skateboarder on his way home from school died in a freak accident Thursday when he hitched a ride on the back of truck, police said.

Alexander Ciszewski, 18, rode his skateboard up to a white 2005 GMC box truck around 11 a.m. and grabbed the passenger side of door as the vehicle headed east on 47th Avenue near 33rd Street in Sunnyside, cops said.

Suddenly, Ciszewski lost control and fell under the back wheels of the truck, police sources said.

One eyewitness told The Post that he saw the driver look in his rear-view mirror and then speed up.

“I know [the truck driver] probably saw the guy,” said the witness, Jadon Thompson, 42. “He sped up about five miles per hour either to get the kid to let go or to give him a faster ride.”

Ciszewski lost his footing on the skateboard and looked terrified as he flew backwards, Thompson added.

“I saw fear in his face and then he went under,” Thompson said.

The truck driver left the scene, but police said that it was unclear if the driver knew that he had run over the teen.

Ciszewski suffered severe trauma to his body and was rushed to Elmhurst Hospital, where he died, cops said.

His family was too distraught to speak with a Post reporter.

A family friend described Ciszewski as a “good kid” and a “boy scout.”

“He was coming home from school. He loved skateboarding and the outdoors,” the friend said.
