Ray Kelly’s bodyguards save the day in hotel rampage

Police Commissioner Ray Kelly’s security team saved the day when two vandals went on a rampage at a famous Midtown hotel and assaulted a man, cops said.

Brian Reese, 23, and Tyrone Edwards, 25, first assaulted the 60 year-old victim outside of the Algonquin hotel and knocked him off his bike but two of Kelly’s detectives who happened to be in the area for a function, quickly apprehended the pair, according to police.

Police said the man was able to identify the duo on West 44th Street near the Avenue of the Americas because he witnessed the break-in at the hotel, cops said.

The duo broke into the Algonquin Hotel through a front window and damaged a few flower pots around 8:20 p.m. Tuesday, cops said.

The two detectives held the men until cops arrived and they were later charged with assault and criminal mischief, according to police.
