Weird But True

What do you have to eat to make this face?

Warning: do not read this while eating.

A Connecticut TV weatherman thought it was a swell idea to eat what he thought was cereal off the studio floor – but his bizarre, on-air snack turned out to be cat puke.

“I thought they were grape nuts on the floor, I ate them. It was actually cat vomit that I must have stepped in at home. It came off my shoe,” WFSB’s Scott Haney tweeted Wednesday.

Haney and his colleagues at the Hartford CBS affiliate were chirping away through their morning report when Haney spotted what he thought were Grape Nuts on the floor – and inexplicably decided to pop them in his mouth.

“They taste like shoes,” Haney said, grimacing, in a scene that quickly went viral.

“You are crazy, you just ate that right off the floor!” incredulous anchorwoman Irene O’Connor replied.

“‘Oh. I don’t think those are Grape Nuts. I think that might be dog doody,” the weather idiot answered.

“I ate cat vomit, right here on television. It’s disgusting,” Haney told viewers. “I’m going to throw up!”

He then elaborated on his disgusting goof on his “Trending Now” segment.

“Ladies and gentlemen, those were not Grape Nuts that I ate. I kept finding more and more of it on the floor, and I thought it was Grape Nuts because it looked just like it,” Haney said, holding up his shoe, the sole of which was still encrusted with cat vomit.

“My cat threw up, and I must have stepped in it and that’s what I ate.”
