St. Francis basketball player busted for sex abuse day after teammate

A St. Francis College basketball player has been arrested on sex-abuse charges, and is the latest member of the team to be suspended after criminal accusations, police sources said Monday.

A 21-year-old woman told cops that guard Sheldon Hagigal, 20, exposed himself and demanded oral sex on Jan. 5, the sources said. She said she escaped, then reported the alleged attack several days later.

Hagigal was arrested Wednesday, just a day after teammate Anthony White was charged with assaulting and choking his girlfriend in her dorm room. White was suspended with three other players after the woman said she had also been sexually attacked, but charges were dropped against at least two and their suspensions lifted, sources said.
