LOWE TO DECIDE TODAY

Kevin Lowe will make a decision today whether to accept a revised offer he received yesterday to succeed Glen Sather as Oiler GM, or to officially leave the Edmonton organization, thereby become the leading candidate to join Sather here as Ranger coach.

It is known that Lowe’s wife, the mother of four young children, strongly favors the Edmonton lifestyle over that which the family will face in New York.

If Lowe does remain in Edmonton, John Paddock, who coached the Wolf Pack to the AHL Calder Cup championship, and is well-regarded by Sather, will become a leading candidate to succeed John Muckler behind the Ranger bench.

Keith Acton, who served as an assistant to Muckler, is also believed to be a candidate.
