USA orders reality series ‘Chrisley Knows Best’

USA Network has ordered a new half-hour reality series “Chrisley Knows Best” that it will pair with repeats of “Modern Family” starting in March.

The eight-episode series follows Atlanta-based self-made multimillionaire Todd Chrisley who rules his family — wife Julie and their five children — with an iron fist in what the network bills as a modern-day version of “Father Knows Best.”

“Chrisley Knows Best” (working title) will premiere with two back-to-back episodes on March 11 at 10 p.m. following “Modern Family,” whose ratings have started to improve recently after a lower-than-expected syndication launch on USA last September.

Sister network E! will also repeat episodes of “Chrisley” starting March 16 at 10:30 p.m. The move is reminiscent of “King of the Nerds,” a reality show that aired after “The Big Bang Theory” on TBS.
