SHOCK TREATMENTS

PACKED with vitamins, amino acids, fat burners and lots and lots of caffeine, energy drinks mixed with alcohol have kicked champagne, vodka and beer to the curb.

“It’s insane how huge energy drinks have become,” says David Kavall, beverage director at Pink Elephant. “The amount that is being consumed is unbelievable. Red Bull created a whole new category of drink. It’s only becoming a bigger playing field with so many brands and competition coming out on the market.”

During a very jittery weekend, The Post, with the help of Steven Margolin, a nutritionist at Manhattan center Longevity Health, decided to take a selection of energy drinks on a test drive, rating their healthiness, taste and pep-boosting ability on a scale of 1 to 4 lightning bolts. We leave the testing of the mixed drinks up to you.
