‘Orphan Black’ returns with snapshots of season

Here’s your first look at the characters playing a central role in Season 2 of “Orphan Black” — returning to BBC America April 19.

In the first season of the thriller, we saw Sarah (Tatiana Maslany) discover she was a clone, and learn that dangerous forces were trying to capture her and her clone sisters.

The conspiracy continues in Season 2, as Sarah races to find her missing daughter while her former lover Cal Morrison (Michiel Huisman of “Game of Thrones”) — a rugged and resourceful outdoorsman — resurfaces.

Meanwhile, her clone allies Alison and Cosima both find themselves having to work with the enemy. Alison, who signed a deal with the Dyad Institute to preserve her suburban life with husband Donnie (Kristian Bruun) and her children, finds herself paralyzed by paranoia, and starts to lean on Sarah’s foster brother Felix (Jordan Gavaris).

Cosima (Maslany) is sick with a mysterious illness and must work with Dyad Institute scientist and lover Delphine (Evelyne Brochu) to find a cure before it’s too late.

And Sarah’s search will bring her head-to-head with pro-clone Rachel, who supports the Dyad Institute’s experiment headed by Dr. Aldous Leekie (Matt Frewer) and is tasked with negotiating the allegiance of the clones by any means necessary — including using Sarah’s confidant Paul Dierden (Dylan Bruce) as leverage.
