Former Jets offensive lineman Vlad Ducasse agreed to a one-year deal with the Vikings on Monday, according to a source.
The Jets selected Ducasse in the second round of the 2010 Draft out of UMass. He was very raw, but the Jets believed he would develop into a starting offensive lineman.
Instead, Ducasse bounced around the line for most of his four years with the Jets and never secured a lasting starting spot. He started the first four games of the 2013 season at left guard, but was replaced by rookie Brian Winters. In 2012, he was part of a rotation at left guard with Matt Slauson.
Ducasse seemed to always be part of a training camp competition as the coaches and front office hoped he would win a job. Former offensive line coach Dave DeGuglielmo insinuated former general manager Mike Tannenbaum forced him to play Ducasse in 2012.
Ducasse also drew interest from the Bengals as a free agent this month.
