Morgan Freeman like you’ve never heard him before: on helium

Morgan Freeman has one of the more recognizable voices in Hollywood, having done voice-overs for everything from “The Shawshank Redemption” to Visa commercials. But we’ve never heard him sound quite like this.

The Oscar-winning actor narrates on helium in a clip from his Science Channel show “Through the Wormhole,” a documentary series that explores the mysteries of the universe. Freeman takes a drag of the gas from a red balloon while taking about unusual phenomena in science — all in a comically squeaky voice.

“Through the Wormhole” returns June 4 at 10 p.m. on Science Channel.
