A stylish burglar made off with thousands of dollars in designer jackets from a SoHo boutique, authorities said yesterday.

Lynwood Murphy, 48, slipped into the John Varvatos store on Spring Street near Greene Street at 2:30 a.m. Friday and swiped three tan jackets worth $2,000, cops said.

Police responded to a tripped alarm and said they spotted Murphy coming out of the boutique carrying the merchandise.

He allegedly ran down the street, but cops quickly nabbed him for burglary, grand larceny and possession of stolen property.

A home health aide used her mentally impaired employer’s credit card to make thousands of dollars in purchases on the Upper East Side, cops said yesterday.

Gifty Berksman, 48, was hired in 2008 to take care of the man, who suffers from dementia.

During that time, she used the man’s Visa card to charge more than $21,000 in merchandise from Duane Reade and the Food Emporium, sources said.

On March 26, police identified her from a Duane Reade surveillance camera, sources said.

She was arrested on June 9 and charged with grand larceny and identity theft.

Bronx

A Manhattan man is fighting for his life after a thug whacked him with a bat on a Mott Haven street, police said yesterday.

The 47-year-old victim, who lives in Morningside Heights with his girlfriend, was struck in the head on East 147th Street near St. Anns Avenue at 11:30 a.m. last Tuesday.

The victim fell unconscious and was rushed to Lincoln Hospital, where he was listed in critical but stable condition.

The assailant, whose motive was unknown, fled.

A Bronx man was found hanged in Riverdale Park Saturday afternoon after he sent a text message to his family saying he was going to kill himself, police said yesterday.

The 26-year-old man, whose name is being withheld, sent the disturbing message to family and friends at 3:58 p.m. Saturday, stating he was going to hang himself in the park near West 240th Street and Riverdale Avenue.

Police later found his body hanging from a tree near that location.

Sources said the man had been depressed over debts.

Brooklyn

An uninvited guest turned up the heat at an East New York barbecue when he repeatedly threatened about 60 guests with knives and a machete, authorities said yesterday.

Fritz Joseph, 41, argued with the guests at the barbecue on Logan Street near Sutter Avenue at 12:25 a.m. Sunday, cops said.

When Joseph threateningly pulled a switchblade, one guest pinned his arm and shoved him back to his apartment across the street, cops said.

About 10 minutes later, Joseph returned to the barbecue with a larger knife and waved it at the crowd, cops said.

He came back a third time with a machete and was finally arrested on menacing charges.

A foul-mouthed crook was recently busted after he swiped beer and cigars from a Bedford-Stuyvesant bodega, authorities said yesterday.

Trevor Barksdale, 19, allegedly grabbed and guzzled a Guinness beer in the store on Tompkins Avenue near Myrtle Avenue at 11:40 p.m. March 26.

Barksdale then took a Dutch Master cigar and started to leave, saying that he didn’t have to pay and the people in the store are “pu- -ies,” sources said.

The owner tried to take back the items, but Barksdale spit on him and fled, authorities said.

The owner identified Barksdale in a photo array, and the suspect was nabbed Sunday on menacing charges.

Staten Island

These two should get a room next time.

A male prostitute and his customer were busted performing a lewd act in a West Brighton park, cops said yesterday.

Sean Rachel, 25, was working the corner of Royal Oak Road and Victory Boulevard at around 10:45 p.m. Friday when he stopped Corey Ruffin, 30, and the two were soon engaged in oral sex, authorities said.

Cops witnessed the act and arrested the suspects, who both were allegedly carrying small plastic bags of pot.

They were charged with loitering for prostitution, public lewdness, prostitution, marijuana possession and weapons possession, said a spokesman for DA Daniel Donovan.
