Luis Castillo, who has been on the disabled list since June 4 with a bruised right heel, could rejoin the Mets tonight. Castillo was batting second in the lineup before his injury, but with Angel Pagan’s emergence he’ll likely bat eighth most of the time upon his return.
Manuel said Castillo’s knack for seeing a lot of pitches will bolster the back of the lineup.
“It’s kind of something we’ve lacked,” Manuel said.
On days Pagan does not play, Castillo would bat second.
