Dave’s new digs: dog house, not dugout

* I feel sad over the controversy with Gov. Paterson and the Yankee tickets (“Scandal Fund Hits Bottom,” Dec. 22).

All local sports teams should automatically include the governor, mayor and president as honorary members of their teams, regardless of political parties.

As such, they would always be welcome to attend any game and to sit in honored seats at the stadium.

I think the fans and community would welcome this and be happy with the unity it could bring.

* You are absolutely correct to write that getting free World Series tickets is not the crime of the century, especially when it comes to a Democrat.

Paterson should be prosecuted for the lies he told to investigators. After all, isn’t it the coverup that got Richard Nixon in trouble?

Even if $62,125 is nothing to sneeze at, I hope Paterson has to pay this fine out of his own pocket and not with campaign funds.

What is the deterrent to these politicians, when they can thumb their noses at the law and then write off any fine as a campaign expense?

* Strike three! You’re out, governor!

Paterson lied about these tickets from the day the story broke, and he continued to spin a despicable web of deceit from then on.

Paterson disgraced the office of governor and dragged the good name of the New York Yankees through the mud.

Nobody wants him as a baseball fan, just as nobody wants him as governor.

In a few days, Paterson is being sent down to the minors — where he belongs.
